The Big, But Not So Fancy, Reveal

*Disclaimer:  I'm going to go on for a bit about a bunch of boring stuff so feel free to skip to the part where I tell you we're having a......

If you've ever been on Pinterest you may have seen one of the many cute and creative photos of couples revealing the gender of their unborn baby.  I've seen a few really fun ones myself and thought, "I'm am so totally doing that!"  Well,  as it turns out, I'm so totally not doing that.  I'm just not feeling motivated enough to go out and find a big huge box and then blow up a bunch of balloons.  And if I bake a cake I'll just end up eating it all myself because Spencer's not a huge fan of sweets.  Some people even have parties to reveal the gender of their baby.  That's definitely not happening!  So, as we reveal to you the gender of our baby without much fanfare or hoopla, feel free to use your imagination and pretend that Spencer and I are doing any one of those things :)  Just make sure you're imagining it with lot's blue cause we're having a boy!

Btw, kudos to you if you like doing all that fancy, creative kind of stuff.  I'm glad there are people like you in the world :) Maybe some day I'll join your ranks.  Today is not that day.

We are SUPER excited!  Now we get to argue calmly and rationally talk about baby boy names. Girl names we're easy to agree on but boy names have been another story altogether.  I like traditional type names (what Spencer calls old fashioned) and he likes more contemporary, new age-y type names.  I'm sure I'll turn him around to my way of thinking we'll find a compromise :)

  1. Henry said just yesterday that he thought you would have a boy, and I agreed with him. We are SO happy for you two! Good luck with the name discussion/decision. And if you actually had the energy to plan and carry out some fancy schmansy reveal extravaganza, I would be worried about you.
