The Big, But Not So Fancy, Reveal

*Disclaimer:  I'm going to go on for a bit about a bunch of boring stuff so feel free to skip to the part where I tell you we're having a......

If you've ever been on Pinterest you may have seen one of the many cute and creative photos of couples revealing the gender of their unborn baby.  I've seen a few really fun ones myself and thought, "I'm am so totally doing that!"  Well,  as it turns out, I'm so totally not doing that.  I'm just not feeling motivated enough to go out and find a big huge box and then blow up a bunch of balloons.  And if I bake a cake I'll just end up eating it all myself because Spencer's not a huge fan of sweets.  Some people even have parties to reveal the gender of their baby.  That's definitely not happening!  So, as we reveal to you the gender of our baby without much fanfare or hoopla, feel free to use your imagination and pretend that Spencer and I are doing any one of those things :)  Just make sure you're imagining it with lot's blue cause we're having a boy!

Btw, kudos to you if you like doing all that fancy, creative kind of stuff.  I'm glad there are people like you in the world :) Maybe some day I'll join your ranks.  Today is not that day.

We are SUPER excited!  Now we get to argue calmly and rationally talk about baby boy names. Girl names we're easy to agree on but boy names have been another story altogether.  I like traditional type names (what Spencer calls old fashioned) and he likes more contemporary, new age-y type names.  I'm sure I'll turn him around to my way of thinking we'll find a compromise :)

In the beginning....

In the beginning it was just me and Spence.  Now we're expecting a baby come January so, for those of you with basic math skills, you'll see that two will soon be three and we couldn't be more happy and excited and nervous and just a little bit scared, but mostly happy and excited.  In June we got to see the first picture of our growing baby and listen to its little heartbeat.  Here's a picture of the ultrasound:

He or she is already starting to look more like a human being and less like an alien tadpole :)

Anyway, now we're 15 weeks along and I'm finally out of the all-day sickness phase which shall forever be known as The Days of Perpetual Puking.  Spencer is relieved because he's allowed to cook and eat food in the house again.  He had been banished to eating certain foods outside or in the car and to using the grill out by the apartment pool if he wanted to cook meat.  But he was a trooper and seriously never complained once.

Next month we get to find out the gender.  Yus!!
